What Do Most Voice Over Artists Use To Record From Home?

July 21, 2011 by: Chris M.

Some people build elaborate studios inside their homes to do their voice over recordings. They spend thousands of dollars for top quality equipment and have enough work to justify it. Most voice over artists do not have enough income flowing in to justify that kind of expense, so what kind of equipment do most voice over artists use to do their home recordings?

This is not one of those blog posts that has the answer or has taken a poll to share results with you. This is a blog post to generate real responses from readers like yourself. Please share with us what kind of setup you have at home to do your recordings. What kinds of microphones, mixers, computers, software, amps, software, booths are being used? We really want to hear from you!

I have built a room within in a room in my basement . It is a combination audio booth/recording studio. When we move to our new home in November , I will be adding a whisperoom and moving all the gear outside the recording booth. My philosophy in building the studio and the pricey equipment was to have the best sound quality possible for all my clients whether local or national.
