Are Voice Actors Ahead of The Economic Crisis Wave?
March 16, 2009 by: Tracy PattinWhen I attended Voice Artist/Marketing Expert, Tori Hartman’s Voice Over Potluck last week, I marveled at the high energy, upbeat feeling of this group of 50 Voice Actors. That got me thinking, “Do voice actors know something, others don’t, in these tough, somewhat depressing economic times?” Then I realized, we already have to deal with the plethora of curve balls in our voice over careers as part of what we sign up for in this industry. We have to deal with economic uncertainty, peaks and valleys, successes, failures and those flatline times when we’re not booking. What do we do? We reinvent ourselves, and we study to perfect our craft.
Or as Tori Hartman does, she creates community and a marketing team so they can be stronger in numbers than going it alone. In tomorrow’s podcast interview, Tori talks about her voice over marketing team, their strategies and creating the support to help each other.
