Anime Resource
September 4, 2009 by: Amber DahlinThis week voice-over talent Peter Drew told me about Crunchyroll website, a great resource for those of you out there who either voice Anime, want to voice Anime, or just plain love watching Anime! (To learn more about Crunchroll check out their About page.)
“Japanese Anime has become more popular because subtitles have been replaced by dubbing” says Animation Voice Director, Rene Veilleux. To hear more from Rene Veilleux, listen to our previously posted Podcast – enjoy!

New Technologies: Pros and Cons in today’s Voice-Over business
I became an Anime fan after watching numerous Anime shows with my daughter as well as attending a number of Anime Conventions. The folks in the business are great and it really looks like an interesting genre to voice in. Crunchyroll is a great site to view Anime. However, the sad state of things is that it has lost a lot of steam over the last couple of years. The recent loss of ADV Films being a indicator of this. Hopefully with Catoon Network airing shows like Bleach, Ghost in the Shell, Code Geass and others will give the Anime world a lift.
Other great resources are:
Anime In Los Angeles with great info on the local LA Anime scene:

Adventures in Voice Acting by Bang Zoom!. Tony Oliver and the gang have put together a great DVD and I hear the workshops are really cool.

Crispin Freeman Voice Acting Workshops – Crispin is a great VO Artist and a very bright guy with an remarkable passion for Anime:

Anime News Network – All things Anime:

Hopefully I did not step on any toes with this, but I thought it would be interesting to share this info for those interested in voicing for Anime.
Thanks for the post Tracy.
Thanks for sharing posting your comments and for sharing the additional Anime resource info Jon, we appreciate it!
